"If God is Love, Don't Be a Jerk!" This is the title of the John Pavlovitz book that the Wednesday Evening Learning Circle will be studying. A subtext is: Thou Shalt Not Be Horrible. Pavlovitz says:
"I grew up believing that one of the markers of a life that emulated Jesus was a pliable heart capable of being broken at the distress of other human beings: when they are hungry and hurting, when they are homeless and afraid, when they grieve and feel alone, when they believe they are unloved and forgotten, when tragedy befalls them, and when injustice assails them, These things are supposed to move the needle within us if Jesus is softening our hearts, or at least I imagined so."
Join us to discover what Pavlovitz challenges us to do if we are followers of Jesus.
Wednesdays at 7 pm in the Church Library. Everyone welcome. Info - Barb Lough
