Land Acknowledgement Workshop

Writing Your Own Land Acknowledgment

Recently, the Worship Committee adopted changes to the way we offer our Land Acknowledgment during worship. Our goal is to make this important piece of reconciliation less performative by making it personal, highlighting the relational nature of the treaties and of reconciliation, and addressing real action in moving forward.

Please join us for a Second Hour workshop after service on Sunday May 4th where we will explore more deeply the reasoning and inspiration for this change, as well as offer an opportunity for you to write your own Land Acknowledgment. This will be an engaging learning experience for anyone who wishes to offer the Land Acknowledgment during worship or at other RMUC events, those who offer Land Acknowledgments elsewhere, those who are passionate about Reconciliation, and anyone who is curious about this new process.
